The Boston Terrier is a breed of dog that originated in the United States during the late 1800s. The breed was created by crossing a white English Terrier and an English Bulldog. Originally bred for fighting, Boston Terriers soon became popular as companions and have remained so ever since.

Boston Terriers are small dogs with an average height of 15-17 inches (38-43 cm) at the shoulder and weighing between 10-25 pounds (4.5-11 kg). They have a short, smooth coat that comes in black, brindle, or seal with white markings on their face, chest, and paws. Their eyes are large and round giving them their adorable expression.
Temperament:

Health Problems:
Due to selective breeding practices over the years they suffer from various health problems such as breathing difficulties (brachycephalic respiratory syndrome), hip dysplasia, cataracts among other eye diseases , deafness etc However regular vet check-ups along with preventive measures could increase its lifespan upto about 13 -15 years
Exercise:
A brisk walk twice daily should suffice these enthusiastic breeds who also loves playing ball games indoors/outdoors !
Special Grooming Needs:
They shed moderately .Brushing once or twice every week should keep these sleek creatures looking good ! A bath only when really necessary(once every six weeks) would be ideal .
Training:
Potty training should begin right away followed by basic obedience training including socialization techniques .Positive reinforcement like treats ,praise rewards work best while harsh scolding harms more than helps .
Compatibility with children/pets :
Generally kind-hearted ,loves cuddling and playing with kids & get along well with other family pets (except rodents due to their terrier hunting instincts)
Personality quirks :
Boston Terriers love attention ! They can be quite the clown sometimes hence its better to indulge them in mind challenging games .Though they’re not constant barkers but a firm hand is needed for training them
Famous examples:
Few famous Boston Terrier dogs include Rodney from “Married With Children” , Bruschi who served as an emotional support dog of New England Patriots team and Puggy Sue, one of the earliest 1000 members registered under AKC.
