When they are not given attention, they will be destructive. The Wirehaired Fox Terrier can be extremely aggressive, especially when it comes to other dogs. They cannot be trusted around other animals. If a Fox Terrier encounters a bird, they will attempt to kill it. Wirehaired Fox Terriers need to be properly trained. If they are, they can get along with other pets you may have. They should be kept on a leash when you’re out and about. If they are left alone, they will go off on their own and begin exploring their surroundings. While they can be good watchdogs, they have a bark which can become aggravating. Health ProblemsOne condition which is commonly found with this breed is epilepsy. Wirehaired Terriers are also susceptible to becoming deaf, and they may need to be treated for skin problems. ExercisePlacing Wirehaired Terriers in a little yard will allow them to get all the exercise they need. However, if you are living in an apartment, you will want to take them for extended walks whenever you can. It is best to keep them on a leash when you are walking them. Special Grooming NeedsIf you don’t plan on using this breed for dog shows, you can brush it with a bristle brush every so often. The coat of Wirehaired Terriers will need to be stripped a few times each year, especially if they will be used in dog shows.
