Toy Poodle Pictures and Information

Toy Poodle Description

The Toy Poodle is a small dog which is very beautiful. Their coats require a large amount of grooming, and the texture of the coat should be curly. The ears of these dogs should be long and broad, and they should lie against the sides of the dog’s head. The head of the Toy Poodle should be long, and their eyes should have the shape of almonds with a dark color. The skull of these dogs should be circular, and their teeth should showcase a scissors bite. The body of the Poodle should have a square shape, and the dewclaws should be taken off. The tail must be docked, and any color is acceptable for the coat as long as it is a solid color.

Temperament

The Toy Poodle is an intelligent breed that is easy to train. They are quick to respond to commands that are given to them, and they will display a cheerful disposition. These dogs are sociable, and like nothing more than being in the company of people. However, these dogs may be wary around people they are not familiar with. It is important for owners to make sure this breed is properly trained while they are puppies. Despite the small size of the Toy Poodle, they make excellent watchdogs. They will behave best with children who are mature, and they can become snappish if they are annoyed. They can also bark excessively if their owners don’t train them not to.

Health Problems

The Toy Poodle may develop eye problems, ear infections, PRA, and skin problems. Despite this, they have a fairly long lifespan. The Toy Poodle has a maximum life expectancy of 15 years.

Exercise

While the Toy Poodle enjoys getting exercise, they are not as demanding as other dog breeds. Owners will want to allow these dogs to run free in a safe area. These dogs will be cheerful when they are given the exercise they need. Because of their size, they are ideal pets for those that live in apartments, and it is not necessary for them to have a yard.

Special Grooming Needs

Owners will need to spend a large amount of time grooming these dogs. Their coats will need to be trimmed, and they will also need to be given baths regularly. Owners will want to remove any hair that is growing near the ears. Poodles do not shed large amounts of fur, and are great for people who have allergies.
