Owners will want to avoid feeding them excessive amounts of foods, as they can gain weight. Because of their small size, they are designed to live indoors. It isn’t necessary for them to have even a small yard. Special Grooming NeedsThese dogs have a coat which is relatively easy to maintain. However, it must be combed each day with a wire brush. This will stop the coat from being matted. You will want to make sure knots are removed. The coat should be trimmed two times a year. The best time to do this is in the spring and fall months. It is also important to make sure the area around the eyes are trimmed. Miniature Schnauzers don’t shed a lot of hair, and are good pets for people who have allergies. It may also be a good idea to have a professional trim the coat of these dogs.
