Their eyes should be oval in shape, and they should be dark brown. The teeth of the Giant Schnauzer should form a scissors bite. The dewclaws on the back legs must be taken off, and many owners choose to remove the front dewclaws as well. The coat should either be black, white, or a combination of the two colors. If they are not given exercise at least two times a day, they can become highly active, and will be difficult to handle. These dogs enjoy large amounts of exercise, and they also enjoy running free in wide open areas. Special Grooming NeedsThe Giant Schnauzer has a coat that needs excessive amounts of care. It will become matted, and owners will want to make sure the coat is combed or brushed on a weekly basis. The coat of these dogs will also need to be trimmed. The Giant Schnauzer has no dog odor and will shed virtually no fur.
