Feist Pictures and InformationFeist Description
The Feist exact origin is unknown and they are a rare breed, but they can be traced back to the rat terrier. Other varieties of the Feist breed include the Bench-legged Feist, the Pencil-tail Feist, and the Kemmer Feist. All these breeds are used for hunting small game such as birds, rabbits, and squirrels. TemperamentThe Feist breed has a similar temperament to that of a Rat Terrier. They are a lovable and high-spirited breed. They do make good companions but are only truly happy when they are used for hunting as well. They can be a hyper active breed. They are good with children but can sometimes play to rough for smaller children. They are not good around smaller pets and will try to kill them. They are usually okay with other dogs. Health ProblemsThere are no known problems associated with the Feist breed. They are a small breed, but very tough. They are not fragile and their bones do not break easily. ExerciseDogs of the Feist breed require a great deal of exercise. They must have frequent and long sessions of play. They are best suited for areas that they can run free. They will hunt any small animals they come across, and this most be taken into consideration when you are choosing an area for them to run and play. It is best if they are used specifically for hunting. Special Grooming NeedsA Feist does not require much grooming. Occasional brushing may be required. They are a breed that enjoys digging and burying themselves in the dirt so the occasional bath may prove necessary.
