This breed enjoys being around children, and will make great pets for the family. While they can be calm, they have powerful barks and are suspicious of strangers. The Bracco Italiano has large amounts of endurance, and is an excellent swimmer. Health ProblemsWhile the Bracco Italiano is a healthy breed, a number of them have died when Domitor was used after they were placed under anestesia. Studies are currently being conducted to find out why this anesthetic is so dangerous to this breed. Not much is known about the life expectancy of these dogs, but it may not live longer than 14 years. ExerciseThe Bracco Italiano is a gundog that enjoys large amounts of exercise. They are extremely active, and love to swim. Owners will want to make sure they are given a large yard to move around in, and a pool may be added as well. These dogs are not good for people who live in apartments. They are active dogs which need large amounts of space. Special Grooming NeedsThe Bracco Italiano has a coat that owners will want to brush or comb on a consistent basis. Not much is known about the shedding patterns of this breed, and they should only be bathed when it is necessary.
