Border Terrier Description

The Border Terrier is a small dog that has a coat which is wiry. It has small eyes which should be dark in color, and the muzzle should be short. It should also have small ears that are shaped like the letter “V.” The teeth and jaws of these dogs should form a scissors bite. The tail is short, and should taper towards the tip. The tail should always be carried level to the back unless the dog is highly energetic.

The coat colors for this breed should be tan, blue, red, or grizzle. A combination of these colors may also be present. While a small amount of white is allowed on the chest, any white which is present on the feet will be considered to be a fault.

The Border Terrier has a life expectancy of 15 years, and some have been known to live longer.
