They enjoy being around their families, and owners will not want to isolate them. Health ProblemsThere are no specific health problems that are seen in this breed. Some of these dogs may get skin disorders or eye problems, but they are generally very healthy. The Belgian Malinois has a maximum life expectancy of about 14 years. ExerciseThese dogs enjoy working, and will need to get extensive amounts of exercise. It is best for owners to unleash them, but this should only be done in a secure location. These dogs can function well in an apartment, but it will be the responsibility of the owner to make sure they get the necessary exercise. Special Grooming NeedsThe Belgian Malinois has a short coat that is easy to care for. A sturdy brush should be used on the coat, and it should only be bathed when it is necessary. These dogs will shed large amounts of fur two times in a single year.
