When these dogs are led on the leash, they should not be led into places where their fur could get tangled in bushes. Special Grooming NeedsThe eyes of these dogs need to be cleaned consistently. Though the coat can be kept long, it will need to be trimmed. When the coat is brushed, owners will want to avoid pulling on the fur. American Cocker Spaniels shed a standard amount of fur.
